NEW BLOG TO CHECK OUT

Hello Nail Lovers!

Sorry I haven't been posting as often, I was going to be strutting Essie's Borrowed and Blue but I went out on the boat with some friends yesterday and my nails broke and :( I have to file them all down and took off the polish. Luckily, I do have a nice fresh mani to show you guys today. My friend made a new nail blog and she is a growing addict with amazing nails, and she does really nice application. She has good tips (she showed me the halfmoon trick!) and she has lots of cool colors and is always on top of the latest trends. She is super worth checking her out and please follow her! Maybe even recommend her on your blog?
Without further a do....

HOT HOT HOT PINK

Sorry this is super late, I wore this a few days ago and I absolutely loved it! I had the idea of this mani combo from missglamorazzi  from youtube. I didn't have the neon pink she used under China Glaze's 108 degrees, so I used 2 coats of my Orly Va Va Voom which I adore! I did not get a swatch of that color alone and I apologize but I hope you enjoy my pictures. You know where to contact me but if you have any other questions feel free to comment, tweet or email me :)

The Manicure from Hell

Ok so I usually don't get manicures anymore... I really prefer doing my nails myself, I mean it's something I enjoy and... my feet I don't care but my hands I'm not a big fan of. My friend insisted on treating me because she was going to get her nails done and didn't want me to just sit there. I kept saying no but, I sort of felt rude after a little bit. Well I did my feet and it came out pretty nice.... but the manicure....let me just say I told the man to NOT cut my cuticles.... and not sure why he wasn't able to just skip that, he did it first.  I would say more but.... oh god! Just see these pictures for yourself!

I also got 2 Sally Hansen Polishes because Walgreens had a 2 for $4 sale!

And I just wanted to show off my little nail wheel that I try all my stuff on. I just remove the polish every time, but I should really get some new ones.

In the comments below tell me if you guys have ever had a manicure nightmare!

HOW TO: Half Moons EASY

Hey guys I was just trying out some sort of nail art? no I guess you wouldn't call it that but I was tyring to be creative with my nails. I painted the base of my nails with OPI's Black Onyx which is one of my favorite black polishes (.... any recommendations for a better one?) and I did the rest with Essie's Blanc, which I love but if you guys have any better suggestions please tell me in the comments below, tweet me (@postivpolished) or email me (positivelypolished@hotmail.com).

So here's a little how to... sort of. This is a very easy way of doing it so you avoid any mess ups and its pretty simple, it's HALFMOONS FOR DUMMIES hahha

Things you will need:
2 different colors, contrasting would be best
base coat
topcoat
Paper reinforcements (very inexpensive, you can get them at CVS, any office supply or publix even!)
should look like this:

1. Start of by painting your nails with a basecoat on all of your nails to prevent staining.

2. Paint 1 to 2 coats of the base color you choose to start off. The amount of coats depends on the coverage the color gives, and how you like it. I choose OPI's Black Onyx.

3. Put topcoat on your base color and let it sit until it is completely dry. You may even want to wear your base color for a day and do this second part the next day so you are sure your polish is dry. I say this because sometimes you think your polish is dry and when you put the reinforcement on your nail and peel it off it peels the base color off too.

4. Now in these pictures I have already painted my other color over the black but I will explain. After your base color is dry you place reinforcements on all of your nails. You can use one entire reinforcement per nail or you can cut them in half, whatever you prefer.

4 1/2. Make sure that your reinforcements are well placed and try to get it in the side cuticle and like ... use a wooden stick to mold it to your nail that way when you paint over it, the polish won't bleed through to the other side and create an uneven line.

5. Paint your second contrasting color over your nail trying not to go past the reinforcement side closest to your cuticle. Do one to two coats depending on the coverage of the paint and how you want it to look.

6. Let the top color dry for about 30 seconds and start to remove the reinforcements carefully making sure you don't rip away any polish.
 7. to finish it off put topcoat on all of your nails and do cleanup if necessary.

I hope you liked this small tutorial and this helps you. I also bought a few polishes today X_X!
I really need to stop this addiction and start moderating my stash! I'm thinking I might have a blog sale with a few polishes?... would any of you be interested in it? Very low prices like 2-6 dollars the most probably

Fourth of July Nails!

Hey guys sorry for the late post with my nails. I'm just gonna have the pictures of individual nails not much to say, hope you had a great Fourth of July though!

sorry I took pictures after wearing it all yesterday so it's chipped.. idk how it chipped back there but it did :/

the colors I used (left to right) were, sephora Myrtille L34, Essie Aruba Blue, Milani Gems, Essie After Sex, and then Sephora's it-girl L25. OH and the base is Essie's Blanc! That is my go to white, does anybody have a better suggestion? I love all of these polishes, the sephora's are like one coat if you use them for a full mani and aruba blue and after sex have a very similar finish and I really love them. I used my Milani Gems instead of Deborah Lippmann Happy Birthday because I like to use it for fun mani's instead of wasting my Happy Birthday.

This was just a fun mani nothing special nor spectacular but I hope you enjoy it :) I just used a simple nail art brush, and my dotting tools to move and decorate my nails. Essie After Sex and Revlon Liquid Quick Dry Review

I don't usually wear reds but I have really grown fond of this color… and no not because of the name. Actually me and my friend re-named it first kiss, after hugs, or after my first kiss, haha, just because.  This color looks so pretty and it's a great nail color for a party I think. This is three coats although I could have gotten away with two. Let the Pictures Speak for themselves….

I am obsessed with the Revlon Liquid Quick Dry as I said in my last post. I got a comment requesting a full review so here it is :).
This is pretty easy but I demonstrated it on my thumb anyways...

First off you put your topcoat on all your nails and you let them dry for about 30 seconds to a minute, so its not like SUPER wet top coat.

Once you think its fine, you BRUSH on this quick dry formula on your nails just as you would apply a topcoat. If the brush is denting the polish or making streaks you didn't wait long enough for the topcoat to sit. This is an oil though so you don't have to press the brush, just lightly stroke it along the top so you know the oil touches all of the polish.
I really prefer this as apposed to the dots because its easier to see what you're doing and you can be sure you got your whole nail covered. This works better for me actually, I've had the OPI dots and other versions and they just don't please me. I usually use Poshe topcoat or Seche Vite and although they are quick dry this just makes it all that much faster.
If you have any questions just comment below, email me [positivelypolished@hotmail.com], or tweet me [@positivpolished]

Oh also, none of you answered my question from the other day which is, do you guys prefer ONE to TWO picture posts, or picture heavy posts like mine?? Tell me am I doing too much or not enough?

xoxo, Sabrina
